New Baby Boy!

Hi everyone!  Today I created a card for the TSG162 Sketch Challenge.  I was inspired by one of my newly purchased CTMH stamp sets, and the upcoming birth of our 3rd nephew later this summer.  When I saw this set in the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book I instantly fell in love with this little aligator.  I stamped the image on Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock from Crafter's Companion.  I then stamped it again on lime green gingham paper from the We R Memory Keepers Baby Mine 6x6 paper collection.  This is the paper that I used for the whole card.  I cut out and paper pieced the aligator.  The other elements I colored in with my Spectrum Noir Markers.  Of course I could not leave it without a little stickles on his scales in Lime Green.  I accented with some hemp twine from MME, and a cloth button from the same Baby Mine collection.

The inside of the card is finished using the same materials.  I left it blank in the middle for a personal message.

I hope all of you enjoy this little card I created and have a wonderful crafty week!

Things With Wings

Hi Everyone!  This card was made for the TSG161 Weekly Challenge Winged Things.  The sketch I used is from  SSSC161 challenge.  I was so excited to use my new La Blanche stamp.  I have wanted to purchase one of these stamps for a while now.  They are so detailed, vintage, and feminine which is right up my alley!  I could not decide if I wanted to watercolor this with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks or use my Bright Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  In the end the alcohol markers won out.  I might still stamp it later on watercolor paper and use my Tim Holtz for another card.  The butterflies are from the Poppies Stamp Set from TSG.  I just love these butterflies and thought they would look perfect with the roses.  All of the stamps were placed on Ultra Smooth Cardstock from Crafter's Companion.  I love this paper for my markers.  It provides such beautiful seamless blending.  All of the paper used was from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection.

The inside was finished using the same materials.  I used a nice and simple sentiment from a Stamping Up! sentiments set that I have had for quite a while.  All of the edges were inked using Tim Holtz Spring Limited Edition Distress Ink Pad in Peacock Faethers.

I hope all of you enjoy this card.  I had a lot of fun making it.  As always, have a great week and HAPPY CRAFTING!

Lady Liberty!

Hi there again!  This card was created for the Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge at MFT (MFTWSC76).  I just love my new PI stamps, and I could not resist using this little cutie for the challenge this week.  She was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on to Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock from Crafter's Companion.  She was colored in using my Spectrum Noir markers.  I will list the colors for those of you who are interested at the end of my post.  All of the papers are from Authentique's Glory line.  I just love this line of papers!  I can't seem to make enough with them.  I added a little sparkle to the flame of her torch using Stickles in Diamond.  Isn't she just the cutest!

The inside was finished using the same paper and stamp line.  Both of the sentiments on the front and back are stamped using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire. I think I have finally gotten the 4th of July bug out of me lol, since this is the 3rd 4th of July card I have made.  We will see though!

I hope all of you have a fabulous week, and enjoy my card.  Please post with any comments or questions.  I would love to hear from you!

Circles Circles Circles!

Hi Everyone!  This card was created for the TSG160 Circles Challenge.  The layout was from a past Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge SSSC134.  I used my brand new MFT stamp PI Sprinkler Girl.  The paper line I used for this is the "On the Sunny Side" by MME 6x6 paper pad.  The cardstock for the base of the card is Kraft by Recollections.  I colored this little cutie using my new Spectrum Noir Markers, and paper pieced her swimsuit.  The image was stamped on to Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock from Crafter's Companion.  This is the paper recommended by them for the Spectrum Noir Markers.  I am not positive about this, but I have heard that this paper is Neenah paper.  I die cut her using the Spellbinders Large Circles Nestabilities.  I will list the colors for her hair and skin at the bottom of my post.  The circle embellishments were made using my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio SST-02 Round 14.  It is hard to see in the photo but I created a little sparkle to the water with some Diamond Stickles.

The inside is finished using the same materials.  The Stamp is from the Stampendous Clear Stamps Birthday Brackets set.

I had so much fun making this card using all of my new goodies.  Please comment below with any questions or just to tell me what you think.  Have a wonderful week everyone!

There She Goes 159 Inspiration Challenge

TSG inspired us this week to make a card based on the photograph below.

When I saw this picture I knew right away what I was going to do.  I purchased the stamp used below a few months ago from my local scrapbooking store.  It is a Penny Black stamp called Natures Day.  The sketch I used is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 160 from The sweetest Thing Blog.  You have to visit this site if you haven't already, Karen is such an amazing talented artist!  I can only hope someday I am half as talented as she is.  I am so excited to post my first card for her challenge this week. I used papers from the MME Follow Your Heart Be Amazing collection.  I went back to my Tim Holtz Distress Markers for this project since I feel most comfortable with these at this point.  The twine is from the same MME collection.  The little roses are made from MFT's Mini Rolled Rose die.  I added yellow pearls to the centers for a little added touch.  I finished off the water colored flowers with a little Stickles in Diamond as well.

The inside of the card was finished using the same products.  The sentiment stamps are CTMH's Card Chatter- Love collection.

I hope all of you like this card.  If you have any questions please feel free to post a comment.  Have a wonderful crafty week everyone!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club #75

Hi Everyone!  Wow it has been a crazy crazy week and weekend.  Our poor cat Felix was not feeling well at all, so we spent half the day yesterday at the Vet's Office.  He is starting to feel a little better now, but he is still not himself.  I am so excited to post this card because not only did I use my first MFT purchases, but this is my first image colored using my new Spectrum Noir markers.  I made this for this weeks Wednesday Stamp Club challenge from MFT.

Isn't she just adorable!  Like I said above this little cutie and the sentiments are from a stamp set called "Just For You Jolinne".  When I saw her on MFT's website I just new I had to have her.  She is stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo ink.  I colored her using my Spectrum Noir alcohol inks on Bazzil smooth cardstock.  This was the cardstock that was recommended to me by my local scrapbooking store.  Ehh.... it is alright, but I found it took several passes to get the colors to blend right.  Which was a problem because if I put too much ink down it would start bleeding.  I did just purchase some of the paper recommended for these markers on Crafter's Companions website.  I am looking forward to trying that paper when it arrives in the mail.  Overall, for my first alcohol ink coloring experience I don't think she turned out too bad.  I definitely am not a master at them, and hopefully with time I will get better.  I used the "Country Garden Collection" by Bo Bunny for this card.  The plain carstock is American Crafts.  The twine is The Twinery twine from The RibbonCarousel.  Lastly the flowers were made from MFT's "Mini Rolled Rose" die.  I just love this die and I can't wait to get the big version.

The inside was finished using the same materials.  Please leave comments at the bottom.  I would love to hear what you think of my first colorin experience.  I hope all of you like this card, and please continue to follow my blog for other exciting entries.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Challenge 74

Hi everyone!  Wow three posts in one weekend.  I am on a roll!  This card I created for my father and mother in laws 49th wedding anniversary coming up this Friday.  I have to be honest, I had the hardest time finding stamps for wedding anniversaries.  There are a ton out there for weddings, but anniversaries not so much.  My DH and I have a lot of weddings this year to go to, so I finally just bought the "Wedding, Marriage 97892" stamp set from Inkadinkado.  I figured it would work for this card and I could use it for the weddings as well.

The paper line is "The Mr & Mrs" by Pebbles.  This is an older line of paper and I don't even know if it is available for sale anymore.  I originally had plans of using it for my wedding photos, but have gone in a different direction with that.  I inked all of the edges of my paper with Distress Inks in Iced Spruce.  The ribbon is a light gray ribbon from May Arts.  The sketch I used for this was this weeks MFT Wednesday Stamp Club 74.

It is hard to see from the picture but I used Stickles in Diamond to accent the bouquet flowers, hair flower, and a small bit of her dress.  I added a little bling to the scalloped border to make it a little more fancy.

The inside of the card is finished using the same materials.

I hope this card will bring a little extra cheer to my in laws anniversary.  I hope all of you enjoy this card and have a great upcoming week.  Keep coming back for more card challenges and other project ramblings!

Mini Haul Spectrum Noir

Hi Everyone!  I just wanted to post a small haul video.  I received some of the Spectrum Noir Markers in the mail today.  I wanted to just give a quick review of my thoughts on them after I opened them up.  Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Another Lovely 4th of July Card!

Hi everyone!  It feels like so long since I have posted.  I have been so swamped at work this week and I know it is only going to get worse next week.  I really am starting to live for my weekends off!  I created this card for the TSG158 Cork It! Challenge.  I have to say it took me a really long time to create this card.  I have never worked with cork before, so it was a challenge to use it in a creative manner.  I guess that is what challenges are for though right?

I once again used the Authentique "Glory" line of papers for this card.  I really really love this line!  The felt stars are "Puffies" from KI Memories I found at Michaels.  I then cut out thin cork sheets from Michaels as well for the back layer of the stars.  I really wanted to use my sewing machine this week to stitch on this card, but I chickened out last minute and decided just to hand stitch for an accent to the front.  I will get the courage up soon to machine stitch I swear!  The red cardstock is American Crafts and I embossed it using my Sizzix Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment using CTMH Archival Black ink.  This is one of my favorite black inks out there.  I find it does not smear at all with my Tim Holtz distress markers.  The layout was taken from SSSC159.  I  didn't get this done on time to submit for this challenge as well, but I still love how it turned out.

The inside is finished using the same products.  I stamped the cork star with CTMH's Universal Backgrounds D1477 script stamp in Lady Bug Memento ink.  I hope you all enjoy this card, and please visit my blog again for further projects!
