#Stamptember Sneak Peak

Today I am sharing a card I created as a sneak peak into one of the wonderful #Stamptember products being released September 1st at Simon Says Stamp

This adorable set is called Tons Of Hearts.  It is loaded with many solid and outline hearts of all sizes.  I decided to use my Tim Holtz mini Distress inks to stamp the solid hearts on Distress Watercolor Cardstock.  I took this technique from a video Kristina Werner posted recently.  After I was done with that, I took the matching outline stamps and stamped it over some of the watercolor hearts with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink from My Favorite Things.  I finished the card by adding a sentiment on a band of 40lb Bazzil Velum embossed with Ranger Black Sparkle embossing enamel.  I made another watercolor piece of cardstock with the same colors of Distress Ink.  I die cut some hearts out of it, covered them in clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents, and added them to the velum band.  I am really happy how this card turned out.  I hope you enjoy this and head over to the Simon Says Stamp Blog and Store starting September 1st for a month of fun and new products.

The stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp and it is called "Hey Pumpkin".  I colored this adorable cat and pumpkin with my Copic markers and added some stickles glitter to the Jack-O-Lantern.  The cat is colored to look like my cat Basil.  She is a beautiful long haired Nebelung kitty.   The patterned paper is from Tricks and Treats by Pebbles.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I hope you enjoy, and come join in the fun for your chance to win a great prize.

Craft Hoarders and Altered Pages Blog Hop

This week we are teaming up with Altered Pages to do a blog hop.  Gloria is challenging us at Craft Hoarders to use buttons.

If you are a card maker, quilter, layout artist, or anything in between, you probably have a button hoard! Buttons come in many sizes, styles, shapes, and colors, plus they are easy to store...usually in cute containers! Pull out those bins of buttons and use some of them for your challenge project!

One talented participant will receive this prize, donated by Altered Pages!

Summer Garden Challenge at the Craft-Room

Hi everyone!  It is that time again for a new challenge at the Craft-Room Challenge Blog.  Hazel is challenging us to create something lovely with the theme of "Summer Garden".  I created a card that I really feel embodies that theme.

Just looking at it makes me feel like I am walking through a beautiful English Garden.  I Really love this stamp set from Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley.  She creates the most beautiful botanical images and I highly recommend checking out her site.  I colored the peonies with my Copic Markers and cut it out with the pierced circle Die-namics from MFT.  I have been coveting this patterned paper from Graphic 45 for a while now, it is called Botanical Tea and it is simply gorgeous.  I decided to cut into some of my collection for this occasion since it fits so well.  The ribbon is from Really reasonable Ribbon.  The button is an old one I pulled from my stash.  The sentiment was from the same stamp set and I embossed it with Ranger Detail Gold Embossing Powder.

I hope you enjoy my inspiration for this challenge and will join in the fun over at the blog.  Make sure to read the challenge rules as we are changing a few things up.  Have a wonderful day!

CCD August Preview Day 1

I everyone!  Today C.C. Designs is previewing their new stamps for the Month of August on the blog

This adorable new Meoples stamp is called Witches Away.  The sentiment is from the new AmyR Spooked Out stamp set.  These stamps along with many others will be available for purchase starting Thursday August 7th at 11am.

I colored the image with my Copic Markers and accented with some Stickles.  The patterned paper is from the Tricks and Treats collection by Pebbles. All of the paper is edged with Distress Ink in Black Soot.  The moon is edged in Spiced Marmalade. The ribbon and twine are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The little Bats are cut from a CC Cutters Die available in the shop and I covered them with glossy accents.  I stamped the sentiment and embossed it with detail white embossing powder from Ranger.

I hope you enjoy my card.  Head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT has created!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Upcycled Challenge

Hi there!  It is time for a new challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous.  Gloria is asking us to upcycle something into a beautiful project.

Challenge #13 Let's Cycle...Up-Cycle That Is!
Being frugal and going green is what it's all about. Show us how you can up-cycle something using "junk" from your hoard. Most craft hoarders also hoard boxes, tins, packaging, and bits of this and that. Our mantra is, "I can MAKE something with that!" Now is your chance! Up-cycle!

I decided to get messy this time with a mixed media burlap canvas from Canvas Corp.

I used many different paints, stains, inks and sprays from Tattered Angels and Ranger along with some embossing paste and tissue paper from Canvas Crop to create the background.  The "upcycled" portion of my project is a cardboard box that I ripped up, inked with Distress Inks, and covered with Frantage aged aqua embossing enamel.  The digital images are from Altered Pages.  The little girl is matted with part of a package backing from the 7 Gypsies looking glass that I used.  The tag is from Altered Pages and I stamped one of their rubber stamps onto it with Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.  I hand dies the ribbon from RRR with Tumbled Glass stain and Frayed Burlap Ink. I added some flowers from I am Roses.  I also covered a clamp from 7 Gypsies with the embossing enamel and attached that to the top of the digital image.

This was so much fun to make!  I am a novice at this mixed media thing, but I am happy with how it turned out.  Head on over to the Blog and join in the fun and see all of the other wonderful inspiration the DT has made!
