Really Reasonable Ribbon March Blog Hop

Hi there crafty ribbon lovers!  Today is the day for the March Blog Hop at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The design team and I have come up some beautiful projects with the new Welcome Spring Collection.

If you are following along you should have come here from Jennifer's Blog.  If not, head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to start at the beginning.

As some of you might know, my husband and I are expecting our first baby in June and we were delighted to find out it's a girl!!  I decided to make a cute door hanger for her nursery using items from Really Reasonable Ribbon, Polly's Paper Studio, and my scrap stash.

I took a hanging chalkboard I had in my stash and painted the edges with Distress paint in Spun Sugar.  While that was drying, I took a wood frame and painted that with the same Distress paint.  I then sprinkled on some Frantage embossing powder in Shabby White to the frame and melted that with my heat gun.  I glued a piece of digi vintage print from one of my Creativity Kits from Polly's Paper Studio.  I then adhered this down to the chalkboard.  I then adhered a few tags from the same kit around and inside the frame. I took one of the adorable digi collage images from the Blooming Bicycles Journal Card set and adhered that off center on the frame.  All of my images and tags were edged with Black Soot Distress ink.  I added a few pink doodlebug pearls as accents on the frame.

I then moved on to creating my bouquet of flowers with several different Wild Orchid crafts flowers from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.  Aren't they just spectacular!?  After they were arranged and adhered, I moved on to the sentiment.  I used some American Crafts Thickers scrabble blocks in pink for the first part "ENJOY"  and then took my Picket Fence Distress Marker and hand wrote "Life" onto the chalkboard.  I added some Crystal Stickles to the roses on the image for sparkle.  I also added Journey Glaze to the bicycle to make it stand out.  Finally, I cut off the original burlap string that was on the top and created a hanger with Pearl Pink Roses with Scalloped edge Grosgrain ribbon.  I also created a double layered bow with my Bow-It-All tool and Pearl Pink Satin Ribbon and adhered this to the top of the chalkboard.

I hope you enjoyed my adorable door hanger using the new Welcome Spring Collection.  Now head on over to Bonnie's Blog which is the next on our hop.  Have a wonderful crafty day!
