Hi everyone! Well it is a new year, and at the Craft-Room Challenge Blog we have a new challenge for you. Our guest designer for this challenge is Christine Cesar, and she has challenged us to create a project inspired by her beautiful collage. I took inspiration from many of the aspects of her collage and created a tag.
There are a lot of supplies and techniques that I used for this and I had so much fun using them all. My process is a little long winded so sit back and bear with me lol.
I started out with a #8 manila tag from Ranger and embossed it with a floral embossing folder by Anna Griffin. I then inked the tag up with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, and the edges with Brushed Corduroy. I then laid down a small piece of patterned paper from the Graphic 45 Secret Garden Collection. I stamped several Damask designs with an MFT stamp set. I then used the Damask MFT stencil to add a few designs to the background with Inka-Gold paste by Viva Décor. I cut out a dress form (inspired by the corset in the collage) with my Silhouette Cameo and added distress glitter in Antique Linen to it with matte medium. I popped that up with foam tape. I distressed white Prima flowers with actual coffee (inspired by the collage) and then glued them on to the corner of the tag. I cut out a sentiment tag from the same Graphic 45 collection, distressed the edges, and glued it on to the upper corner of the tag. I cut out the key and lock from a Tim Holtz die and distressed them with Brushed Corduroy. I then painted them with a Ranger gold paint dauber. After they were dry, I added a layer of distress crackle paint in Rock Candy to them. I tucked the key into the flowers and glued it down. I used the lock at the top with a time piece embellishment brad. Both the key and the time piece were pulled inspiration from the collage as well. My final piece was a white butterfly from Prima that I colored with Tattered Rose ink and glued on to the tag after it was dry. I added a little Stickles in Champagne to the wings for some sparkle.
The overall theme has a lot of antique golds in it which I took from Christine's collage. The picture really doesn't do the tag justice on all of the details. I hope you enjoy my creation and it inspires you to play along with us for the challenge. Have a wonderful week, and get crafting!
