September Hoarders Hop

Welcome to the September Craft Hoarders Anonymous Hop! You should be coming to my blog from Glenda Brooks blog. After visiting me, hop over to Tracey Sabella's blog next! To start at the beginning of the hop, and for the full list of Bloggers, go to Gloria's Blog!

I have had the Graphic 45 "Raining Cats and Dogs" collection stored in my craft room for quite some time now.  I had this plan of making a mini album of our 3 cats and new as soon as I saw this collection it would be perfect!  I bought almost the entire set including all of the elements and then it sat and sat...  Until this week!  I finally took it all out and made a mini box and album from it along with a hoarded black 5x5 mixed media box from the Graphic 45 Staples collection.

I measured all of the sides on the box and cut out patterned paper to match.  I inked all of the edges with Black Soot Distress ink and adhered them down.  I fussy cut out the cat and flowers image for the front and adhered that popping up the large flower on foam dots.  I made the corner bouquet with several coordinating Wild Orchid Crafts Mulberry Flowers.  After they were adhered, I sprayed them with some Lindy's Stamp Gang in Clam Bake Beige to create some shimmer and darken the white flowers a bit.  I framed the edges of the front with black rhinestones.

Below are the pictures of how I designed the sides of the box including the opening flap.  I used a Graphic 45 Antique Metal Door Pull from my stash for the opening.

After I finished the box, I then got to work on the actual mini album to fit inside the box.  The box came with 6 black cardstock pieces that I used to create the pages of my album.  I covered each side with patterned paper and several elements from the collection.  All of it was inked again with the Black Soot ink.   After I was finished with the pages, I punched a hole in each upper left corner with my Cropadile puncher.  I had a silver binding ring in my stash which I covered in black patterned Washi tape to make it blend in with the book more.

The backs of each page (not pictured) were left unembellished with only a 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 inch black mat for my pictures when I get them developed.  I am really pleased with how this album turned out.  I hope you have enjoyed it and are enjoying the hop.  Have a wonderful day!
