October Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop

Hi there crafty ribbon lovers!  Today is the day for the October Blog Hop at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The design team and I have come up some beautiful projects with the new Crazy For Christmas ribbon club assortment.

If you are following along you should have come here from Ginny's Blog.  If not, head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to start at the beginning.

Believe it or not, Christmas is only a few months away!  It is time for me to get started on my cards for the Holiday.  I have been waiting and waiting to use my Stamp sets from the Heartfelt Creations "Sparkling Poinsettia" collection.  I grabbed for them right away when I saw this month's ribbon assortment.

I stamped the candle image onto Copic cardstock with Black Licorice Hybrid ink from Fun Stampers Journey.  This is an awesome ink for coloring with Copics because it does not smear and it is super dark black! I then colored it with my Copic Markers.  After I was finished I cut the colored image out on my Silhouette Cameo machine using my Pix Scan mat.  I layered a 5 1/2 inch square piece of patterned paper onto Whip ream cardstock.  I then cut a window out of it with an MFT STAX die and popped it up onto a 5 1/2 inch square card base with 2 layers of foam tape.  I took my distress inks in Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed  and sponged a "candle glow" light effect onto the background cardstock.  I took my colored image and placed it into the window with a single layer of foam tape.  I stamped and die cut two sets of Poinsettias from the same stamp collection onto thin watercolor paper by Northwoods Stamps with Raspberry Berry ink.  I shaded them with Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  I layered the leaves together and placed the stamens in the center which were colored with Fossilized Amber ink.  I covered the stamens with Journey Sparkle Dust to make them look frost covered.  I coated the flame of the candle with Journey Glaze to make it shine.

I wrapped several ribbons and mesh from Really Reasonable Ribbon around the bottom of the card.  The first layer is 1.5" Burgundy Netting.  I then layered Emerald Checkerboard Satin Ribbon and Christmas Fun Flowers Ribbon from this months assortment over the netting.  I created a double layer bow with my Bow It All tool and tied it onto the ribbon band.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, rounded the edges, and adhered it to the top corner of the card.

I hope you enjoy my Christmas card I created with the beautiful new ribbons from the October Ribbon Assortment.  Now head on over to Bonnie's Blog which is the next on our hop.  Have a wonderful crafty day!
