Sister Act Design Team Call

Hi everyone!  Well here I go.  I have felt that my heart has been calling me to apply to be part of a design team for a long time, but I have shied away thinking I needed more experience.  With the encouragement of several friends and family, I have decided to take a leap.  My dad always told me growing up "you are destined to fail if you never try".  The design team I am trying out for is a new and exciting challenge blog where anything goes.  Can you get a better challenge than that?  What a great way to show off all your creativity.

I have been an avid scrapbooker and card maker since 2009.  Last year I started working a lot more with stamps, and decided I wanted to share my cards with the rest of the creative community online with a blog.  It has been such a wonderful outlet for my creativity, and a great way to meet new people.  It took a lot of time to pick out just three of my best cards but I have decided to showcase the three mediums I use to color my cards with.  I am starting with a card that used my Tim Holtz Distress markers, since this is the first medium I used for card making/stamping.

The next card I am showcasing is colored with the second medium I worked with.  I wanted to try alcohol markers, but didn't want to make the huge investment in Copic markers to start.  I did a lot of research on alternatives and found Spectrum Noir markers made by Crafter's Companion.  These are a wonderful and economical alternative for crafters that want to try alcohol markers, but don't want to drop a lot of cash initially.

The third and final card I have decided to showcase is a card I created with my newest medium, Copic markers.  Okay okay... so I know they aren't technically an entirely new medium.  They are still alcohol markers, but they have an entirely different feel than the Spectrum Noir markers.  I thought it would be an easy transition from one to the other, but it was not as easy as I thought.  They really took a while to learn how to use them.  I by no means can claim to be an expert at using them since I only started about four months ago, but I feel like I get better and better each time I color with them.  I love these markers!  They are very pricey, but I can honestly say they are worth every penny.

These are just a sampling of my passion in life.  It was SO hard to pick only three cards, but I hope all of you enjoy them.  My goal with every one of my cards is to brighten the day of my recipients, and to inspire others that view them.  Please visit my blog to see all of my other creations.  Have a wonderful week, and as always stay crafty!
