Stencil with Masking Card Tutorial

Hello my crafty friends! I am so excited today to share with you a full color step-by-step tutorial to re-create my beautiful card using products from the new Fun Stampers Journey 2018-2019 Annual Inspiration Book and Catalog!

The stamp set I used is from my favorite new collection called The Good Life. This collection is full of that beautiful rustic country charm which is so on trend right now. It makes me dream of simpler days from my childhood enjoying the fresh country air and sunshine.

Now on to the tutorial!

Measurements

Instructions

1. Die cut a large circle from a 3-3/4” x 5-1/2” piece of masking paper or contact paper placing the die on the middle right side with a small amount hanging over the paper.

2. Adhere the masking paper over the Tin Pail card front cardstock piece.

3. Place the Wallpaper stencil over the masked cardstock and secure it down with washi tape.

4. Using the large dowel dauber and Chambray Shirt ink, stencil in the unmasked circle area of the Tin Pail card front.

5. Die cut the largest circle piercing element around the perimeter of the stenciled circle.

6. Use the scoring board to score the 4-1/4” X 11” Whip Cream cardstock piece at 5-1/2 inches. Fold it at the score mark and crease with the creasing tool to make an A2 card base.

7. Adhere the Chambray Shirt cardstock strip and Wood Grain patterned paper strip vertically along the left side of the card base front.

8. Wrap a small piece of Special Day ribbon across the top of the Tin Pail card front to create a band and adhere it to the back of the piece with clear wrapping tape. Wrap the natural twine over the top of the ribbon four times and adhere the ends of this to the back as well. Create a double looped bow from the Special Day ribbon and adhere it to the front upper left of the card front on top of the ribbon band.

9. Pop up this panel with medium foam squares and adhere it to the card base front.

10. Die-cut the Garden Fence die out of the 3” x 5" piece of Whip Cream cardstock and adhere it to the bottom of the card. The bottom of the fence should line up with the bottom edge of the card. Stamp the tall pitcher of cotton blossoms onto color splash paper with Black Licorice ink. Watercolor the image with Color Splash Pencils and the blending brush. When it is dry, fussy cut out the image and adhere it to the right side of the fence with small foam squares.

11. Die-Cut a small scalloped circle from the small square of vellum. Stamp the "Be Humble Be Kind" sentiment using Clear Pigment ink onto the center of the die-cut vellum scalloped circle. Then heat emboss the sentiment using the Rose Gold embossing powder. Adhere the circle into the middle of the stenciled circle on the card front.

12. Add Peach and white pearls from both the Meadow Pearls and Pearls accessories around the bouquet as a finishing touch.

Before you know it you too will have this beautiful card to share with a friend or loved one! It really is so easy to create amazing cards with the help of the Fun Stampers Journey.

2017 Holiday Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop

Hey there crafty peeps! It's the most wonderful time of the year... and the Craft Hoarders are back at it again with the 2017 Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog Hop! You should be arriving at my blog from the very talented Patti Hamil's blog, if not, head over to the beginning with Gloria to catch all of the wonderful projects!

I have created a lovely Thanksgiving card to send to my family this year since we will not be able to spend the day with them. All of the products are from Fun Stampers Journey. All of the supplies will be listed at the end of the post with links.

I started by stamping a 2.5"x 5.5" piece of Journey Splash cardstock with the leave stamps from the Artful Leaves stamp set in clear pigment ink. I then heat embossed them with Gold Journey Embossing powder. I colored all of the leaves in with Liquid colors in Candy Apple, Fresh Forest, Orange Creamsicle, Lemon Drop, and Pretty Amethyst. Once this was dry, I added a layer of Clear Sparkle Silk to all of the leaves for an added touch.

I took an A2 size piece of Pretty Pansy cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Fall Text Embossing Folder. I then rubbed Gold Pan Pastel over the embossed panel to make the impression stand out. I stamped a thin panel of the Journey Splash cardstock with sentiments from the Happy Fall and Harvest Wreath stamp sets in Candy Apple and Dark Roast Fusion Inks.

I adhered the leaf panel to an A2 card base made of Pretty Pansy cardstock. I then took the embossed panel and cut it into two smaller panels. I popped them up with foam squares and adhered them to the card base. I adhered the sentiment panel to the bottom of the card. I finished the card with a bow made from Gold Twinkle Trim and Whip Cream Thread. Finally, I added a Nature Button to the top.

12 Days of Halloween Day 2

Hi there crafty friends! I am back today with Day 2 of My 12 Days of Halloween series. The card today is a bit simpler and traditional card style but I think it turned out very cute!

I started out with an A2 base from Pretty Pansy cardstock. I then layered a piece of printed cardstock from the Fall Fest Prints pack. I then layered another smaller piece of Pretty Pansy cardstock embossed with my Spooky Bold embossing folder. I took a small piece of the Pretty Pansy cardstock and a print from the Fall Fest Prints pack and created a layered fishtail banner with them. I popped this up with foam adhesive to the front of the card. For the focal image, I stamped the Haunted Halloween stamp onto Whip Cream cardstock with Black Licorice True Color Fusion ink. I fussy cut around the image and colored in the bat and the word "Happy" with my Journey Color Burst pencils. I popped this up into the center of the card and lined the image with Journey Glaze to add some shine. Finally, I created a bow with Black Gingham Ribbon to the top of the card. 12 Days of Halloween Day 1

Hi there crafty friends! Long time no blogging. I took an extended absence due to the birth of my daughter. Life hasn't gotten any less crazy, but I am making an effort to set aside some "me" time. I have always wanted to do a Halloween card series, so this year I decided to go for it. So without further ado here is my project for Day 1!

I created an A2 card base with Black Licorice cardstock. I then layered a piece of printed paper from the Fall Fest Prints collection. I made a background piece from watercolor cardstock "smooshed" onto an acetate sheet with watered down Silks in Citrus Cooler and Sour Lemon. Once it was dry, I adhered it to the card base. I placed a strip of Black Licorice Sparkle tape in the lower right along with a strip of Washi from the Sweet Romance Tape set (free Bloom Benefit). Finally I placed a strip of wishing stars down. I made a messy nest of Black Licorice Journey Thread and adhered that on top of the strips. I then used my silks to splash on top of the card. While that was drying, I stamped one of the images from the Halloween Silhouette stamp set with clear sticky ink onto Black Licorice cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I fussy cut around the image and adhered it onto the card with foam squares. Finally I added some gems from the Sea Stones pack.

October Hoarders Hop

Hi everyone! We are back with the Hoarders Hop after a summer break. Woohoo! We will now be hosting the hop once a quarter. There will be inspiration along with some great prizes along the way!

We are being challenged this month to create something for the upcoming holidays so I decided to create this fun pocket card using products from Fun Stampers Journey. I stamped three leaves from the Autumn Days stamp set with Dark Roast ink. I then colored them with my new Pan Pastel sets. I also added some Splatters of the Bronze Silks to the leaves. I then added Journey Glaze to them and set them aside to dry. In the meantime, I die-cut the Double Pocket card die out of Dark Roast cardstock. I adhered it together and added a piece of patterned paper from the Harvest Days Prints pack to the front. I then tied a piece of Candy Apple Satin Ribbon around the bottom and tied it in a simple knot. Once the leaves were dry, I popped them up on the front of the pocket with foam squares. I then tucked in two notecards made from Cranberry Bliss and Butter Cream cardstock. On the top card I stamped the Thanksgiving sentiment from the Annual Celebration set in Dark Roast ink. I tucked both cards inside the pockets. To add a final touch, I added several enamel drops made from my red and gold glitter Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Can You Case It? Challenge #137

Hi there crafty peeps! Wow, it has been so long since I have posted. As some of you may know, I freed up all my commitments this summer to go on maternity leave. Well, my little angel is now just shy of three months and I am the creative bug again. I decided to participate in the Can You Case It? Challenge this week. It is a color challenge which I just love!

I created a fun and fast card using all products from Fun Stampers Journey. The stamp set is called Flock Together which is a set you can receive for free as part of our Bloom Benefits program. I cut out a panel of Whip Cream cardstock with my Journey Rectangles. I then stamped three feathers in Bubble Gum and River Stone inks. I then stamped the coordinating sentiment in Black Licorice ink over the feathers. I created a background piece with my new Confectionary Days Pan Pastels in Sweet Pear and Bubble Gum. I adhered my stamped panel to the background and wrapped Bubble Gum Satin Ribbon around the bottom. I then adhered this to Whip Cream cardstock. I popped the whole panel up onto an A2 size card base made from Sweet Pear cardstock. Finally, I added a few silver Special Celebration sequins to bring in more of that Gray element. May Hoarders Hop

My husband and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary on the 7th of May. I decided it was the perfect time to sit down and create a few more pages to add to our ever growing wedding album. This is one of the layouts I created. I took three pictures of me and my invites taken before the ceremony at my parents house to create the page. The paper and embellishments are from a long hoarded stash of the "Lyric" collection by Prima. I fell in love with this collection when it came out a few years ago, and I had to buy everything I could get my hands on. Of course once I got it, I squirreled it all away. Each picture is matted onto white pearlescent paper to make them stand out a bit from the background. I used my Silhouette as well to create the doily in the background and my title. The pictures were taken by my super talented (and professional photographer) cousin Erin Hanson.

You're A Star!

Hi there crafty peeps! I am back today to share an adorable card that could be used for numerous occasions. I created it using a stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey and beautiful ribbon from this month's Ribbon Club Kit that can be found at the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

I stamped the star image in two different colored inks from FSJ. I fussy cut them out and adhered both to a white cardstock panel. The red star I popped up with foam dots. I then adhered a puffy silver star to the top of the red star. I added the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock over the top of the blue star with foam dots. I wrapped Red and Turquoise Diamond Print Grosgrain around a red card base and also made a bow to adhere to the sentiment strip. As a final touch I added Robin's Egg and Garnet Perfect Pearls around the stars in opposing colors. I also added a few Sparkling Clear sequins to the card. Things with Wings Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hi there crafty peeps! Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. We are challenging you this time to create something with a "Things with Wings" theme. Here is my interpretation on the theme.

I created this adorable card using one of the new Avery Elle stamp sets called Woodland Wonders. I colored each stamped image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and die cut the shapes out with the coordinating die set. I created a circle window into a wood grain stamped panel of cardstock to create some added interest. I then popped this up onto a base covered in blue patterned paper. I layered all of my cute colored images into a small scene on the front of the card. I also die cut out some layered of grass for the bottom to give the bunny something to stand on. I stamped the greeting to the top left corner. I then wrapped some natural colored hemp cord around the top from the 20lb Brights Hemp Cord Set.. This can be found in the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

Happy Birthday Flower Cluster

Hi there crafty peeps! I am back today to share a quick and simple card I created using this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit and ribbon from this month's Red and Turquoise ribbon collection.

I layered two strips of the included patterned paper onto a white card base. I then stamped and fussy cute three flowers and coordinating leaves from the stamp set. I layered them onto the front of the card in a bunch. I then stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock and cut it out with a border. I popped it up with foam tape to the top of the card base. I then wrapped 3/8" Diamond Red Satin ribbon around the card base and tied it into a simple knot. I added Journey Glaze to the sentiment and centers of my flowers to add dimension to the card. I hope you enjoy this simple but sweet birthday card. Have a wonderful day!

Really Reasonable Ribbon April Blog Hop

Hi there crafty ribbon lovers! Today is the day for the April Blog Hop at Really Reasonable Ribbon. The design team and I have come up some beautiful projects with the new Red and Turquoise Collection.

I created this greeting card using the stamp set from the April Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp and ribbon from this month's ribbon assortment. I stamped the flowers and leaves with several different colors of ink in my collection onto an A2 sized white card base. I then stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of the same cardstock and die cut it out with a pierced fishtail flags die. I popped it up with foam tape and added it to the card base. I wrapped two pieces of 3/8" Quatrefoil Print on Turquoise Satin Ribbon on the top and bottom of the sentiment. I added stickles to the centers of each flower for some sparkle. I also added journey glaze to the sentiment to add more dimension.

Life in Full Bloom

Hi there crafty peeps! I am back today to share a fun card I have created using new to me watercolors, a stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey, and beautiful ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I started by creating a watercolored background panel with my new to me Mission Gold Watercolor Palette. I cut it down to size and matted it onto some light yellow cardstock. I then stamped a flower from the Full Bloom stamp set on Bristol paper. I colored it with my Zig Real Brush Markers and fussy cut it out. I popped it up with foam dots onto a pierced die-cut panel with a sentiment from the same set stamped onto the bottom. I wrapped Fuchsia Organza around the watercolor base and tied it into a bow. I then adhered the stamped panel onto the watercolor base. I took all of this and mounted it onto a white A2 size top folding card. I added glitter dust to the flower to make it sparkle. I also added a few sequins and enamel dots to accent the card. I hope you enjoy this bright fun card and have a wonderful day!

Spring Makes Us Happy

Hi there crafty peeps! I am back today to share a card I made using items from the March Simon Says Stamp Card Kit and some twine from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store.

I colored the watercolor image from the kit with my Gansai Tambi Watercolor Palette. After I colored the image I set it aside to dry for a bit. I then created the card base using orange cardstock and patterned paper from the kit. I wrapped Black Burlap String around the middle of the card base. I then took the image and cut out the picture to separate it from the sentiment. I then popped all of the individual pieces onto the card base with foam tape. I added tiny bows to the egg balloons with the same string. I added some white accents to the balloons with white gel pen and white perfect pearls. I added Journey Glaze to the bold words in the sentiment to make them stand out a bit more. I hope you enjoy this bright spring card. Have a wonderful day!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Welcome Spring Challenge

Hi there crafty peeps! Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. I created a fun shaker card as my inspiration for this challenge.

All of the supplies and stamped images are from the latest month's Simon Says Stamp Kit. I created the shaker element by making a shaker pocket with my We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool. I then layered the stamped bunnies along with my die cut grass onto the bottom of the pocket frame with my sentiment strip. I added some of the Hyacinth Double Faced Satin Ribbon to the top and tied it in a simple knot. I hope you enjoy my Welcome Spring card and will join in on this new challenge. Have a wonderful day!
